Cindy White, Castanet – Kelowna is getting second location of Britannia Brewing.
The company that launched its first brewery in Richmond in 2014, will open at Movala on Lakeshore Road in spring 2027. It is taking over 2,700 square feet on the southeast corner of the building, with a 750 square-foot patio facing Gyro Beach.
Britannia already has a 10,000 square foot location on Jim Bailey Road, at the boundary of Kelowna and Lake Country. Along with its original tasting room in Steveston, it also has outlets in Vancouver and in Ladner Village.
Directors Lloyd Kinney and Justin Fowler, who live in Kelowna’s Mission neighbourhood, have had Pandosy in their sight for several years.
“Our neighbourhood is changing, and we are excited for both longtime and newly established residents to experience something fresh, fun and locally curated in the Lower Mission,” says Kinney.
“We’ve been looking for the right opportunity in Pandosy for several years, so we were very particular about the location and what we wanted to create here,” explains Fowler.
“It gives us an opportunity to do something slightly different from our existing taphouses, with a larger space to continue our strong regulars gathering program and the intent to service a new takeaway concept for the beach at Gyro”.
MOVALA’s commercial spaces are now 90% leased. Other tenants include including Skå Spa, Old Money Barber, Chocolat Favoris, Jugo Juice, and Springbok Medical Spa.
